New funding to boost Danish drone companies through international collaborations

Denmark’s drone industry is receiving a significant boost with a grant of DKK 17 million aimed at strengthening small and medium-sized Danish drone companies and enhanced impact on Ukraine’s defence efforts.

A great possibility for innovation and growth

The project is part of an international accelerator program that promotes innovation and technological advancement in an industry with substantial growth potential.

The initiative is led by Odense Robotics and CenSec – the national clusters for robotics and drone technology, and for defense, space, and security, respectively – in collaboration with UAS Denmark Test Center, Danish Technological Institute, the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), and Erhvervshus Fyn.

A total of 12 Danish SMEs or startups are expected to receive support through the program. Additionally, at least ten companies are expected to achieve tangible innovation gains, such as new concepts or implemented technologies, while at least five companies will collaborate with institutions as part of the initiative.

Cutting-edge testing facilities at HCA Airport

At UAS Denmark Test Center, we are a proud partner in the project and will provide our unique testing facilities at HCA Airport. This gives participating companies the opportunity to develop, test, and refine their solutions under professional and real-world conditions.

The program supports both traditional drones and other unmanned systems, encompassing technologies for air, water, and ground-based applications. A key commonality among the participating SMEs is their ability to quickly develop and test innovative solutions.

How to apply for the program

Danish drone companies can apply for participation in the program starting at the beginning of the new year. The initiative is targeted at Danish-registered SMEs seeking to create flexible and tailored solutions through international collaborations.
