American drone company to establish at HCA Airport

Thunderstrike Aviation, an American drone manufacturer specializing in green technology for the drone industry, is establishing a test, development and demonstration center at HCA Airport to expand into the Danish market.

HCA Airport can add a significant new business to the airport’s already booming drone ecosystem.

It is thus now official that the ambitious American company Thunderstrike Aviation will enter the drone ecosystem at HCA Airport – among other things, to take advantage of the unique test facilities and airspace that HCA Airport offers in collaboration with UAS Denmark Test Center.

Once all permissions are in place, Thunderstrike Aviation will establish its own test, development and demonstration center on the airport grounds for the company’s drones.

“We see Thunderstrike Aviation as an important addition to our ecosystem of companies. It is not every day that a foreign company establishes itself at the airport, so we also see it as a seal of approval of our facilities,” says Hans Okholm Vejrup, CEO of HCA Airport.

Huge potential

Thunderstrike’s range of drone solutions includes state-of-the-art and multi-fuel drone technologies, and it is Thunderstrike’s ambition to redefine the market in terms of what is possible with drone technology while being safe and good for the environment.

“Hans Christian Andersen Airport is a world-class location for testing and development of drone and counter-drone technologies. Thunderstrike Aviation’s decision to establish their main European facility in the airport – is another testament to the vast potentials of the drone ecosystem. With innovative companies, world-leading research by SDU and an expressed ambition by the Danish government of turning the airport into a NATO Center of Excellence for drones – the future is bright for the drone-cluster in Hans Christian Andersen Airport”, says Peter Rahbæk Juel, Mayor of Odense.

“Thunderstrike has a profile that matches perfectly with the airport’s other activities. I also see the company’s green profile as a big plus. Therefore, I am very much looking forward to welcoming the company to H.C. Andersen Airport and not least to Nordfyns Municipality,” says Mette Landtved-Holm, Mayor of Nordfyns Municipality.
